The University of Regina Press is looking for a new

Editorial Assistant.

Reporting to the Sales and Distribution Manager, typical duties for this exciting opportunity includes the following:


  • Produce scholarly and trade manuscripts by supporting the publications manager and senior editor and make ready manuscripts for the art coordinator (including work on the "Prairie Forum");
  • Provide editorial assistance to the publications coordinator and senior editor by copyediting, proofreading, and factchecking scholarly manuscripts, research, and copyright clearances;
  • Correspond with authors, editors, government agencies, and archivists;
  • Contribute to the consultative and development process of trade publications;
  • Research and provide illustrations and captions for manuscripts;
  • Maintain, update, and respond to correspondance pertaining to the "Encyclopedia of Saskatchewan" website;
  • Website management and troubleshooting;
  • Bring in money for the University of Regina Press and the University of Regina through the promotion of the Press, its titles, and the University in general at trade shows and speaking engagements; and
  • Other duties as required or assigned.
Position Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree combined with two years of related experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered;
  • Strong interest in current events;
  • Strong internet research skills
  • Ability to complete assigned tasks, to prioritize and meet deadlines in a busy work environment;
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail;
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously;
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills;
  • Ability to work cooperatively and maintain productive work relationships;
  • Demonstrated experience working with Indigenous and racialized communities;
Physical Demands

Must have the physical ability to lift boxes weighing up to 30 lbs.

Pay Grade APT 2 Salary Range $54,442 to $73,482 annually Status Term Work Hours Duration (if Term/Temporary) 1 year (with possibility of extension or becoming permanent) Full-Time/Part-Time Full Time Preference Posting Target Posting
