The Systemic Treatment Program (STP) strives to be leaders in the provision of high-quality systemic treatment through innovation, integration, and partnership.


The program works to improve equitable access to high-quality cancer care for all patients in Ontario by setting standards and guidelines for all systemic cancer treatments.

Systemic treatments are therapies used to treat cancer cells throughout the body and include chemotherapy, hormone therapy, targeted therapy, and immunotherapy.


Collaborating with other Clinical Programs and Quality Initiatives (CPQI) programs, business partners across Ontario Health, and working extensively with oncology professionals across the regions, the STP continues to ensure that established standards reinforce positive change and improve best practices across Ontario.


Here is what you will be doing:

  • Acts across multiple projects from planning to implementation as project manager.
  • Creates work plans which tracks activities that need to be completed for a given project.
  • Collaborates with healthcare professionals across Ontario to ensure the program's standards and guidelines are integrated into local practices.
  • Liaises with communication teams to ensure clear, consistent messaging about program initiatives, standards, and updates.
  • Oversees the data collection, monitoring, and analysis of program performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and to measure the success of program initiatives.
  • Leads the implementation of existing initiatives and supports/develops new initiatives for the program.
  • Develops and maintains strategic relationships with relevant stakeholders, including healthcare providers, and patient groups, to ensure the systemic treatment program is attuned to their needs and perspectives.
  • Acts as the lead contact for day-to-day questions/concerns for the program.
  • Regularly updates the manager on the progress of projects, potential risks, and mitigation strategies.
  • Supports the manager in strategic planning, policy development, and program evaluation.
  • Manages a team of resources including allocating work, overseeing the quality of work, and reporting back to the manager.
  • Provides the manager with performance feedback of team members.
Here is what you will need to be successful:

Education and Experience- Completion of a master's degree, major in health services research, health administration, health sciences or recognized equivalent.- Completion of PMP or equivalent preferred.- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience.- Experience working with clinical experts and health care administrators.- Experience with the systemic treatment environment is an asset.- Well versed in systemic treatment program area related analytics needs and products is an asset.


Knowledge and Skills- Demonstrated superior stakeholder relations skills including the ability to develop and maintain collaborative working relationships, build credibility, consult, influence, persuade, build consensus, coach, and resolve conflicts.- Demonstrated experience preparing reports and publications for a variety of different audiences.- Proven ability to successfully manage large-scale, complex projects across all phases. Familiarity with organization and delivery of healthcare in Ontario; understanding of cancer services and/or work experience in an oncology setting and/or experience implementing clinical tools are preferred.- Intermediate experience with Microsoft Office programs (e.g., PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Project).- Must be team-oriented, trustworthy, and passionate about leadership, health system improvement and developing a positive culture within the organization.
