POSITION:
Assistant Manager, Supportive Housing

Non-unionized position

Group Benefits and RRSP


Contract until November, 2024

Current Rotation - Thursday to Monday 23:00-07:00

STARTING SALARY:
$59,572- $76,593**
RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Recognize and acknowledge member's strengths when working with residents, fellow staff, and partnering agencies
  • Empower/foster improvement in staffs' skill sets in areas such as service user engagement, staff communication, knowledge of resources, management tools, relationships with partnering agencies, history of the organization, and understanding of the role of management
  • Support frontline staff with any/all day to day concerns that arise in operational programs in your area and continue to coach and mentor frontline staff
  • Provide support to other operational programs on an asneeded basis and provide oncall support as required
  • Assist with and promote the implementation of policies and procedures
  • Completed day to day scheduling, as required
  • Support residents of Supportive Housing programs
  • Maintain relationships with partnering agencies and attend/participate in program/community/partner meetings
  • Identify gaps or inconsistencies in the daytoday operations and programming and make suggestions for improvements
  • Ensure that staff is in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Postsecondary education in Social Sciences or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience working with individuals with mental illness, addictions and a culturally diverse population.
  • Demonstrated ability to work using a health promotion approach and harm reduction philosophies.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral).
  • Ability to develop collaborative relationships and engage and motivate a diverse team of staff and volunteers.
  • Superior problem solving and crisis intervention skills.
  • Superior integrity, values and ethics.
  • Excellent time management, prioritization and resiliency skills.
  • Previous supervisory experience and food handling experience are preferred.
  • Knowledge of job relevant policies and procedures in Administration, Program Operations, Health and Safety Policies is required.
  • Bilingualism is an asset.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 kg.
