Import and Export Analyst

  • Do you have experience with Import and Export Logistics?
  • Are you good at problem solving?
  • Do you have CCS certification?
Reporting to the Sr.

Manager, Customer and Traffic, you will be responsible for ensuring the effective import and export of shipments, including resolution of any issues that arise along the supply chain.

Your ability to analyze data relating to the import and export of shipments will be critical in meeting business unit requirements, identifying potential roadblocks, and providing recommendations to resolve them.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Administer import operations and processes.
  • Coordinate with supply chain partners, prioritizing shipments based on order status, assigning ETAs to port, warehouse, and coordinating with warehouse receivers.
  • Assess issues that occur along the supply chain; direct external logistics team on how to resolve problems relating to the import of shipment.
  • This includes discrepancy shipment handling, inventory adjustment, insurance claims, etc.
  • Prepare export documentation while adhering to the rules and regulations of government and Canon's Export Policy
  • Review and ensure that the mandatory shipment information is provided on Custom's invoices and work with Customs Broker to declare shipments to Canada Customs with accurate information.
  • Monitor the transportation carrier performance against service standards (SLA)
  • Determine the most efficient and economical methods for all import and export shipments.
  • Monitor Air, Ocean and trucking industry changes and provide resolutions to import and export challenges.
  • Prepare monthly management reports regarding imports and exports.
  • Support companywide logistics projects

To Succeed, You Will Need:


  • Post Secondary education in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration or related field.
  • CCS and/or CITT-Certified Logistics Professional designation is an asset.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Logistics
  • Exposure to Transportation of Dangerous Goods is an asset.
  • To handle multiple projects while meeting all necessary deadlines.
  • Understand Customs Logs; Spot patterns; Correct any issues found.
  • Strong project management skills to implement and execute companywide projects.
  • Knowledge of Pivot tables and Vlookups to match up and analyze data
  • Communication skills to respond to internal and external customers, including customs, customs brokers, shippers, carriers, sales, warehouse and other departments as required
