Position Description Summary

Principal Accountabilities

Processing (offloading, receiving and deconsolidation) of LTL and CME freight
Offload marine exam containers and stage cargo for examination by CBSA/CFIA
Operation of the Ottawa Kalmar shunt truck to position trailer equipment into dock doors
Manage and inventory control of equipment in yard storage
Daily communication with transportation companies drivers, CBSA/CFIA inspectors and internal/external customers
Manual freight handling including repetitive lifting of heavy items
Health and Safety compliance in accordance with regulations and company policies
Maintaining accurate and uptodate records of all shipments and receipts
Daily housekeeping of yard and warehouse areas
Become an effective team member by participating in process improvement initiatives
Performing other general administrative / warehouse duties and tasks as assigned

Knowledge and Skills

Completion of high school or GED
Minimum two years warehouse experience
Trained and certified and experienced forklift operator (Counter Balance)
Experience and trained in the operation of yard shunt truck(s)
Must be able to continuously lift heavy items (60 lbs)
Excellent accuracy and organization skills complimented by the ability to multitask and prioritize
Work effectively as a team player
Excellent knowledge of overall warehousing process
Minimum G driver's license. A-Z/D-Z license is an asset
