We have about 350 Master of Engineering (MEng) students, a professional program for students taking courses with us for a year or two.

- Monitoring, recording, reconciling and/or reporting on funding accounts for grants and contracts
- Processing accounts receivable according to the University Guide to Financial Management, and following up on outstanding accounts receivable tasks to ensure timely completion
- Processing cash, debit and/or credit card transactions. Processing accounts payable according to the University Guide to Financial Management
- Preparing and processing expense reimbursements according to the University Guide to Financial Management
- Identifying and analyzing data discrepancies and taking necessary actions to correct errors
- Preparing budget variance reports, handling sensitive and/or confidential information
- Preparing financial summary reports and generating standard financial reports as well
- Collecting supporting documentation required for accounting, payroll and/or HRIS processing
Essential Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance/Financial Management or other related field or acceptable combination of equivalent experience
- Minimum three years of related experience in financial management. Including experience working with budget variance reports and experience monitoring fund accounts for grants and contracts
- Experience working with complex financial processes
- Experience with the University's Financial Information System (FIS), Human Resources Information System (HRIS) and Research Information System (RIS)
- Experience with preparing and processing expense reimbursements
- Experience with classifying and processing invoices in FIS
- Knowledge of basic accounting principles and procedures

- Ability to prioritize work to meet deadlines and to multitask
- Excellent communication skills (oral and written), Accurate data entry and attention to detail
- Highly developed computer skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint andOutlook
Assets (Nonessential):
- Related experience in a university environment or higher educational institution
- Sound knowledge of FileMaker
- CPA designation is an asset
