Location: 7795 Torbram Rd., Brampton, ON

Hours of work: 35 hours per week

Reporting to the Team Lead of Waste Processing, you will assist with organizing and conducting the various material composition audits performed at the Peel Integrated Waste Management Material Recovery Facility.

What you will do in this role:

Records, organizes and maintains material composition, operational data and maintenance agreements
Prepares written communication in relation to material composition audits
Scheduling for material composition audits and vehicle inspections
Maintains monthly data summaries for residue and inbound composition
Assists with the safe management of household hazardous waste
Provides technical support related to the processing of recyclable materials at the Peel Integrated Waste Management Facility
Performs time and operations studies to assist in analyzing material processing and flow
Monitors the efficiency and speed of sorting equipment and ensures contractors are operating in accordance with service agreements and Environmental Compliance approvals
Prepares and presents findings on the Region of Peel's Waste Management Programs
Conducts tours of the facility

What this role requires:

Successful completion of a postsecondary degree (an equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered)
Knowledge of basic weigh scale operations and weight calculations
Previous experience conducting waste audits
Knowledge of general Waste Management operations and terminology
Possess a valid class "G" license in Ontario
Able to provide CSA approved safety footwear

Strong customer service skills to provide and maintain a positive public image of the Region

Degree/Diploma in Environmental Science or Business
