Loopstra Nixon LLP, a fast growing and exciting mid-size Toronto law firm (located in northwest Etobicoke), is looking is looking for an experienced and motivated team member to compliment the Finance Team.
The duties of the Collections/Accounts Receivable Administrator will include collections of outstanding accounts receivable dollars from the existing client base, reviewing account alterations and resolving inconsistencies.
Duties:
- Assist the CFO in maintaining a collection system within time and billing software
- Knowledge of ARCs or experience with other collection software is an asset
- Review assigned accounts to identify unresolved debts, late payments or other irregularities
- Develop effective repayment plans
- Making outbound collection calls in a professional manner while keeping and improving client relations
- Perform account reconciliations
- Provide timely followup to the CFO on overdue accounts
- Perform all administrative duties related to ensuring office efficiency
- Respond to client account inquiries in a timely and professional manner
- Recommend when accounts should be transitioned to a collection agency and written off to bad debt
- Use tracing techniques to locate clients
- Investigate and resolve payment discrepancies and provide backups to clients
- Research charge backs and returned cheques
- Maintain file closure processes
- Ensure internal requests for closed files are handled in an effective and efficient manner
- Other duties as assigned
Required Education, Skills and Qualifications
- Postsecondary degree or diploma in a finance related field
- 2 years of law firm/corporate collection experience with a large client baseis preferred
- Strong problem solving, multitasking and analytical skills
- Able to work in a fastpaced environment and handle a high volume of work
- Familiarity with DMS systems
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Detail oriented, selfdisciplined, and capable of completing tasks with a sense of urgency
- Able to work independently as well as actively participate as part of a team
Salary:
$45,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
