We are currently seeking and have an immediate opening for a qualified and motivated individual to fill the position of
Applied Academy Technical Trainer (Fluid Power).

Reporting to the Vice President, Canada - HR & EHS, the Applied Academy Technical Trainer will be a key contributor to the success of our technical talent development initiatives within the Applied Academy.
This role will be responsible for developing and delivering fluid power training programs within the technical pathway of the academy.
The incumbent will be responsible for preparing and conducting technical training programs focused on the theory, maintenance, repair, operation, and troubleshooting of equipment, refining training materials, and designing exercises to enhance learning.
This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, highly technical, experienced professional passionate about developing technical capability in others development to the next level to be to play a key role in transforming AIT CanadaRoles and Responsibilities:
- Provide various levels of inperson and virtual Fluid power technical training to employees and customers
- Evaluate, review, and refine training materials and content for accuracy and relevancy.
- Manage training schedule, materials, and training aids.
- Assist on steering committee with technical accelerator program builds.
- Provide virtual support as a Subject Matter Expert on fluid power technologies for Applied Academy's Technical
_Accelerator_ programs. - Act as a key point of contact for fluid power training enquiries and initiatives.
- Liaise with internal and external sources such as industry suppliers/resources.
- Maintain up to date knowledge of company's product and service offerings.
- Take personal responsibility for maintaining training requirements and professional development.
- Conduct additional technical or other training, as required and aligned with competency level (i.e. mechanical)
- Perform additional related functions as required.
Education & Experience:
- 10+ years of experience in a technical role, with demonstrated advanced technical competence within Fluid Power technologies
- Demonstrated capability of delivering of basic and advanced levels of technical training to a diverse audience
- Technical degree or diploma required
- CFPS (Certified Fluid Power Specialist) preferred
- Proven track record of driving visibility and accountability for training within an organization.
Specific Skills & Competencies:
- Ability to clearly communicate technical training to all levels of the organization, with the unique skillset to delivery complex and highly technical content in a way attendees with varying levels of experience can grasp
- Exceptional presentation skills and charisma to quickly establish credibility with a group
- Excellent interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills.
- Strong prioritization and organizational skills; ability to drive projects to completion with little oversight
- Demonstrated ability to influence and work in a collaborative manner with multiple stakeholders managers, employees, leadership, etc.
- A critical thinker who can help identify educational gaps, analyze findings and make recommendations
- Has a working knowledge of training products and services, e.g., adult learning skills, curriculum development, instructional design, delivery and evaluation.
- Passionate about passing on their knowledge and experience to the next generation of technical associates
Other Assets Include:
- Bilingualism is an asset (English & French) although not a requirement
Working Conditions
- Approximately ~25% travel within Canada required for delivery of in person training, as required (Training delivery in key Applied Academy Centers of Excellence across Canada: Saskatoon, Greater Edmonton area, Greater Toronto Area, Greater Vancouver area)
- Position has opportunity to be based in an AIT Canada location (above) or work remotely. Physical location must be in QC, ON, MB, SK, AB or BC with proximity within 50km of one of our AIT Canada locations.
