Course description and learning outcomes:


As criminals develop new tactics and tools to target organizations, the global cyber threat landscape is in a perpetual state of transformation.

In this course, students will be learning how to identify cybersecurity threats and vulnerabilities for different types of organizations and to develop comprehensive cybersecurity plans for each type of organization.

By the end of this course, the students will be able to:

  • Recognize the major types of cybersecurity threats and vulnerabilities;
  • Identify the different types of organizations that are most vulnerable to those threats and vulnerabilities;
  • Draft cybersecurity plans for diverse organizations;
  • Present cybersecurity implementation plans effectively;
  • Describe how to monitor an organization's cybersecurity posture on an ongoing basis.

Qualifications and assets:

Education:BA/MA in Cybersecurity or equivalent, with a major in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science or equivalent

Industry experience:5+ years relevant work experience or equivalent

Teaching experience: 3 years of teaching experience or equivalent

Assets:Experience in cybersecurity, information systems security, software security, communication networks, network security, web security, mobile network security, cloud security, ethical hacking, risk management, security prevention, detection and remediation techniques, security governance, and establishing cybersecurity strategy within an organization

Having an Industry certification like CISSP, CompTIA Security+ is a plus
