Position Overview:

The Co-op Student, Human Resources, is responsible for providing support to the Human Resources (HR) Department.


Responsibilities:


  • Manage general HR requests and inquiries from employees.
  • Provide support to the Recruitment Team, including preparing offer letters and supporting the background check process.
  • Provide support to the Talent Development Team and assist with new employee onboarding initiatives.
  • Assist with the planning and execution of employee engagement events and initiatives.
  • Prepare confirmation of employment letters and respond to employment verification queries.
  • Provide support to the Total Rewards Team, including preparing letters for employees, HRIS data input and payroll reconciliations.
  • Track and process expenses and invoices for Human Resources.
  • Provide support to the Health and Safety Committee.
  • Maintain all employee files, ensuring filing is always kept up to date and is accurate.
  • Maintain confidentiality and security of all physical, electronic and other HR information as appropriate.
  • Ensure compliance with audit and regulatory requirements, corporate and departmental policies and procedures.

Qualifications:


  • Enrolled in or completed postsecondary education with a specialization in Human Resources
  • Excellent computer skills, including the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to adapt to changing priorities and manage deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion
