About Us:

The Master of Financial Economics (MFE) Program is a four term, course-based professional masters program.

The MFE is an interdisciplinary program offered jointly by the Department of Economics, Ivey Business School, Department of Statistical and Actuarial Sciences and Faculty of Law.

The objective is to provide graduates with the analytical and quantitative skills to pursue careers in finance with potential employers such as banks, pension funds, regulatory institutions, investment banks, and related financial institutions.


Responsibilities:


The MFE Program Coordinator is responsible for all administrative and financial aspects of the program, is the main point of contact for students seeking advice on course selections and meeting program progression requirements, monitors students' progression through the program, and manages the graduate process.

The MFE Program Coordinator provides administrative and advising support to students, faculty, and the MFE Director, maintains ongoing contact with program alumni, and in collaboration with the MFE Director and MFE Career Services Officer assists with designing and implementing strategies for recruiting applicants.


Qualifications

Education:


  • Undergraduate degree; major in business, economics, or finance is preferred Experience:
  • 5 years of experience in an administrative role within an academic unit or financial services organization
  • Experience in a student facing role with counselling responsibilities
  • Public speaking experience is preferred
  • Event planning experience would be an asset Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Self-driven, independent thinker who is highly motivated and possesses an intrinsic passion for quality
  • Possesses a reputation for resourcefulness with a strong sense of accountability and initiative
  • Ability to manage large volumes of diverse details with strong accuracy
  • Ability to handle diverse situations, multiple projects and rapidly changing priorities
  • Influential interpersonal skills that build positive and strong relationships with students, colleagues and external stakeholders
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and confidence dealing with all levels of an organization
  • Judgment, analytical and problemsolving skills with a consultative and collaborative approach to addressing issues and opportunities
  • Professional manner, tact, diplomacy and discretion in dealing with associates and colleagues including senior management in the financial sector
