About the Position
Specific Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of sales information, price lists/quotations, and any other marketing materials required to improve the effectiveness of the Sales team;
- Monitor various online bid opportunities (BC Bid, MERX, etc.) for relevant Requests for Proposals (RFP);
- Prepare proposals, based on the direction of Sales and/or Management, including building and maintaining technical content required for most proposals (ALS info, staff qualifications, QA/QC, Value Added, etc.);
- Input, track and prepare client information, summaries of quote and sales opportunities and pipeline information in the ALS Customer Relations Management (CRM) platform;
- Maintain knowledge of laboratory capabilities, service offerings, and relevant environmental criteria and guidelines;
- Support other members of the Laboratory, Client Services or Management team;
- Assist with organizing client events, seminars, workshops and presentations;
- Participate in client appreciation events;
- Ensure adherence to all procedures and policies (safety, quality, employment and technical);
- Use correct methods in accordance with the established procedures and schedules while ensuring analytical quality;
- Observe established safety regulations and comply with all ALS health and safety policies and procedures;
- Other duties as assigned.
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills, including proofreading and editing;
- Strong computer skills (MS Word, Excel & PowerPoint);
- Selfmotivated and capable of working independently;
- Organized and detail oriented;

- Demonstrated time management skills;
- Able to work in a team environment;
- Experience with the ALS Environmental LIMS (GEL) preferred;
- Knowledge of Contact Management Software preferred.
- BSc. or Technical Diploma in Chemistry or related Science discipline preferred;
- College Certificate/Diploma or University degree in English, Communications, Office Administration, Marketing or a related discipline preferred;
- At least one year of experience in Customer Service preferred;
- At least one year of experience in Environmental Chemistry or related field preferred.
- Manual dexterity to perform intricate and/or repetitive tasks;
- Ability to sit for a full shift;
- Ability to sit at a desk and do general office work, which includes periodic sedentary responsibilities.
