Barber Collins security is looking for a part time Security Guard to work in a warehouse at a clients facility in Cambridge, ON.


Preference will be given to those who have access to their own personal vehicle.

Shifts
- *Shifts have a mandatory 2-week rotation_


Week 1 (13 hours): Sunday from 11 pm to 7 am and Thursday from 7 pm to 7 am


Week 2 (19 hours):Tuesday from 7 pm to 7 am


Responsibilities:


  • Conduct regular foot patrols.
  • Protect company's property and staff by maintaining a safe and secure environment.
  • Operate a company vechile and perform patrols of the companies facilities.
  • Take accurate notes of unusual occurrences.
  • Monitor and control access at building entrances and vehicle gates.
  • Watch alarm systems or video cameras and operate detecting/emergency equipment.
  • Access control for the facility/area.
  • Ensuring that the facility's safety and emergency procedures are followed in response to site emergencies.
  • Demonstrating judgement, common sense, and decisionmaking ability, particularly when required to take charge and direct others in emergencies or other incidents.

Skills:


  • Proven work experience as a security guard or relevant position.
  • Trained Security Guard with a diploma in a related field.
  • Ability to operate detecting systems and emergency equipment.
  • Excellent knowledge of public safety and security procedures/protocols.
  • Surveillance skills and detail orientation.
  • Integrity and professionalism.
  • Ability to operate security equipment/systems, computers, radios, phones.
  • Meticulous record keeping, report writing, observation skills.

Qualifications:


  • 35 years Canadian driving experience with a full G class driver's license.
  • Clean driving record (an abstract will be required).
  • 3 years security experience preferably in a mobile patrol position.

Job Type:
Part-time

Part-time hours: 13-19 per week


Salary:
$18.00 per hour


Schedule:

  • 10 hour shift
  • 12 hour shift
  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday
  • Night shift
  • Weekends as needed
