Key Objectives of this Role:

-
Oversee Daily Bookkeeping Operations:


  • Reviewing expenses and supplier invoices prior to posting
  • Reviewing and approving customer credits and refund requests
  • Importing transactions from the ERP system to the accounting system and resolving any errors
  • Providing technical assistance to A/R and A/P clerks as needed

Bank and Credit Card Account Reconciliations
  • Canadian, US, and UK:
  • Reconciling bank statements
  • Reconciling credit card statements
  • Investigating and resolving discrepancies

Customer and Supplier Records Maintenance:

  • Adding and updating supplier profiles in the ERP system
  • Maintaining customer profiles in the ERP system

Financial Reporting and Analysis:


  • Conducting monthly balance sheet reconciliations for 3 legal entities
  • Completing monthend process to ensure financial accuracy
  • Preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including consolidated reports for the Legend Fleet group
  • Analyzing financial data to identify trends and variances
  • Assisting in the preparation of budgets and forecasts

Tax Filings:


  • Completing regular HST and VAT returns
  • Assisting with government remittances

Internal Controls and Compliance:


  • Ensuring adherence to internal controls and company policies
  • Implementing and maintaining effective financial controls

Process Improvement and Efficiency:


  • Identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy
  • Streamlining accounting procedures and systems

Collaboration and Communication:


  • Actively working towards the company values
  • Communicating and interacting within the company in a respectful and helpful manner
  • Collaborating with other departments to ensure financial accuracy and support business operations

Ad Hoc Projects and Duties:

  • Completing any other reasonable duties as instructed by the CFO
  • Participating in special projects as needed
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:


  • At least 5 years' experience in finance role with AR/AP, bank rec and bill payment experience
  • Accounting designation an asset
  • At least one year of formal accounting training is mandatory
  • Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
  • Previous experience with accounting software such as Sage or QuickBooks
  • Legendary attitude.

Pay:
$70,000.00-$90,000.00 per year
