Job Summary/Basic Function

Summer Students work in a variety of positions that support parks-related duties to maintain the City of Kelowna's Parks, Beaches, Sportsfields and Urban Forests (Natural Parks) during the summer season.

Duties
These positions perform a variety of duties depending on the assignment, including:

Engagement with public
Shrub and lawn care maintenance
Litter control
Weeding
Raking
Shoveling
Minor irrigation repair
Mowing
Trail maintenance
Line painting

Employment Dates:
Early May through to late August 2023

Hours of Work: 6:00am to 2:30pm (may vary depending on assignment)

Days of Work:
Monday to Friday (weekends may be required for some assignments)

Qualifications

You must be attending school, college or university during the last school term and returning to your studies in the subsequent academic year.

Excellent customer service skills.

Valid BC Class 5 Driver's Licence.

Able to work occasional weekends and in all weather conditions, including extreme heat and rain and perform physical labour.

Able to work with groups of people and work alone using the buddy system.

Horticulture experience and an interest in this field would be considered an asset.
