Position Purpose:
Reporting to the Manager D&I Administration, the D&I Planning and Governance Specialist is to provide comprehensive support for the administration and governance of D&I programs, policies, and processes.
This includes managing D&I budget, procurement, and contracts, as well as providing forecasting and reporting to ensure effective implementation of D&I initiatives.
Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities
Under the guidance and direction of the Manager, IT Administration:
- Collaborate with D&I management and Corporate Finance to develop and manage D&I budgets and forecasting, including initiating and concluding Capital and Operating work orders.
- Partner with D&I Management Team to report on all Governance accountabilities for the D&I organization, including but not limited to Policies, Procedures, D&I Frameworks to support all lines of business and compliance requirements.
- Liaise with corporate Procurement to complete procurement processes related to D&I products and services.
- Develop, manage, and refine advanced reports and interactive dashboards using Microsoft Power BI, focusing on visualizing D&I financials. This role involves inyear and yearoveryear trending analysis to accurately present financial and operational data.
- Collaborate effectively with the Financial Reporting team to gain a thorough understanding of Alectra's capitalization policy, particularly in the context of cloud cost capitalization. This role involves clearly communicating and educating the D&I management team on the nuances of capitalizing cloud expenses, ensuring compliance with both International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and Ontario Energy Board (OEB) regulations.
- Provide comprehensive administrative support for D&I contract management, including overseeing contract modifications and closure, ensuring alignment with budgets.
- Manage monthly billing processes for telecom mobile devices, including notifying business units of their usage and coordinating with accounting for accurate cost allocation and chargebacks to respective business units.
- Ensures adherence to legislative, regulatory, and Health & Safety policies, procedures, and standards
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Competencies
Education & Specialized Knowledge
- Bachelor's degree or College diploma in Business Administration, Information Technology or equivalent knowledge and experience
- Must hold and maintain a valid class "G" drivers license
- Understanding of budget and forecasting administration and management
- Understanding of procurement management processes
- Understanding of IT deployment methodologies
- Understanding of software license management processes
- Understanding of utility industry business processes and practices
Experience
- Minimum of 23 years experience in IT department administration
- Minimum of 3 years experience in budget and forecast management
- Experience in a unionized utility environment an asset
Skills/Abilities/Competencies
- Advanced Financial Management: Expertise in budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
- Data Analysis and Visualization: Proficiency in Power BI for report and dashboard creation.
