Digital & Technology Sourcing Category Lead, Global Strategic Sourcing (GSS)
, Indirect Procurement

By joining our Global Strategic Sourcing team, you will have the opportunity to participate in exciting sourcing and process improvement opportunities to support delivery of CAE strategic vision.

Collaborating and working alongside our global Digital and Technology teams, you will identify, analyze, evaluate the right vendors, right technology, and support the growth of CAE.

Team Info
The Global Strategic Sourcing team is composed of around 100 employees, located in diverse locations globally. Our team is part of the Indirect team, and specifically the Corporate & IT business Services team.

This position will be reporting into the Manager of the IT & Digital Sourcing team, composed of 4 Category Leads, 1 Procurement Analyst, and 2 procurement coordinators.

The team members are from different backgrounds and all walks of life, all aiming to achieve the department's vision, and playing a vital role in CAE's digital transformation.

Primary Responsibility
The Digital & Technology Sourcing Category Lead, is responsible for the formulation and implementation of IT Sub-Category Strategies. The Category Lead is expected to develop category plans aligned with CAE's Global Digital Roadmap.

The Category Lead will be responsible to lead the execution of the sourcing strategies as per the category plans, and will conduct market intelligence to identify opportunities and channel innovation.

The individual will also be accountable for managing critical supplier agreements, strategic sourcing, monitoring and evaluating and improving supplier performance, developing the supplier base and conducting research to support the category strategy.

Characteristics of successful Category Lead

The Digital & Technology Sourcing Category Lead must also be an effective and influential change agent, working with senior leadership to drive sustainable changes to how the organization sources technology.

In this role, the individual will regularly interact with key IT leaders and business leaders to balance cost, risk and need for speed to ensure that the business is able to realize its objectives.

The skills to influence and drive change, combined with the drive to deliver results per the goals set, will enable the Digital & Technology Sourcing Category Lead to support the rapid evolution of digital business.
