Summary:


The Special Projects Lead will strengthen internal controls and corporate governance by delivery and execution of projects to enhance document management, communication and engagement.

They will be responsible for creating, managing, and executing multiple projects concurrently to standardise and strengthen organizational structure through people, process, performance, and purpose.

This will require expertise in prioritizing strategic issues, collecting, and analyzing data, and working with multiple stakeholders at all levels in the organization to develop and implement innovative solutions.


As a Special Projects Lead, You Will:

Corporate Governance

  • Evaluate Miller practices related to people, process, performance, and purpose by conducting a governance review
  • Audit current practices and their alignment with fiduciary obligations, legislative compliance, risk management practices, organizational development, and executive compensation
  • Analyse effectiveness and present findings and recommendations on what needs to start, stop, and continue

Document Control

  • Create a system for effective management and control of documents by standardizing, simplifying, and optimizing efficiency and utilization of organizational policies, programs, and processes
  • Ensure the Document control process is implemented and adhered to by timely reviews, updates, and reapprovals as needed
  • Identify changes and the status of document revisions
  • Identify and formalize appropriate communication processes by which information is passed between the managers and employees within a business unit, or between the business and external stakeholders

Project Management

  • Collect requirements from key stakeholders to define the scope of the project.
  • Present recommendations and cost benefit analysis for management approvals based on viability.
  • Create breakdown of work structure, define and sequence project activities and contingency plans.
  • Plan, coordinate and execute projects across the organisation including tracking and reporting on status, risks, issues, and dependencies.
  • Report on project progress and status
  • Evaluate project status, resource utilization and implement changes to improve team effectiveness

Team support

  • Devise a process to facilitate allocation of employees from other teams to work on assigned projects.
  • Lead the onboarding and offboarding of project teams as required.
  • Provide functional leadership and/or supervision to the project specialist including training, work allocation, problem resolution, and performance feedback.

What You Will Bring?:


  • Bachelor's degree in Business Management, IT, HR, or related work experience. Project Management Professional certification is an asset
  • Minimum three to five (35) years' experience on large projects focusing on organizational effectiveness and at least two (2) years of managing cross functional projects
  • Knowledge of MS Project, Visio, Office Suite, SharePoint
  • Ability to critically analyze information, systems and processes
  • Ability to work across with multiple stakeholders in crossfunctional teams to drive results with external and internal constituents including the leadership team
  • Ability to convert strategy into action by influencing a diverse group of stakeholders
  • Creative thinker to confidently challenge the statusquo
