The Role:


Reporting to the Director, Finance, this role, is responsible for implementing all payroll/compensation administration functions with accuracy and timeliness, maintaining data and preparing reports and for accurate and timely processing of all accounts receivables.


Core Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Payroll:_
  • Timely biweekly Payroll administration and processing using ADP Workforce Now for salaried and hourly employees
  • Complete payroll related reporting in accordance with set timetables, including but not limited to annual returns for EHT, WSIB, CRA
  • Complete reconciliation of government remittances and take corrective actions for any discrepancies
  • Manage yearend/year beginning payroll activities including T4 reconciliation and production
  • Ensure remittances to Manulife, OPSEU, WSIB are completed in an accurate and timely manner
  • Prepare regular and ad hoc reports from as required
  • Complete Payroll analysis, budgeting and participate in annual financial audits as required
  • Respond to employee requests and inquiries for all payroll issues in a professional and timely manner
  • Ensure legislative compliance at all times
  • Research best practice, make recommendations for changes and assist with implementation
  • Organize and maintain file archives, ensuring compliance with record keeping practices.
  • Accounts Receivables:_
  • Perform day to day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, computing, posting and recording accounts receivables data
  • Prepare invoices and bank deposits
  • Reconcile the accounts receivable ledger to ensure that all payments are accounted for and properly posted
  • Verify discrepancies and resolve clients' billing issues
  • Facilitate payment of invoices due by sending bill reminders and contacting clients
  • Generate financial statements and reports detailing accounts receivable status
  • Assist in the preparation of accounts reconciliation and bank reconciliation
  • Process credit card payments
  • Makes recommendations for continual process improvements and ensures that procedures are documented
  • Ability to deal with clients facing difficult circumstances
  • Provide a balance between quality customer care and collection techniques during all calls
  • Update, review and maintain the bad debts in Accounts Receivable
  • Review invoices and requisitions for satisfactory payment approval
  • Perform other duties as required.
  • University degree or (2year) Community College program in Payroll/Accounting
  • Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) completed (or in progress)
  • Demonstrated proficiency using ADP Workforce Now software required
  • Demonstrated proficiency creating and manipulating reports
  • Minimum 2 years related experience payroll administration
  • 2 years' experience processing Accounts Receivables
  • Demonstrated proficiency with all modules of ACCPAC+ (Windows)
  • Superior Excel skills required
  • Able to prioritize among multiple demands
  • Organized and detail oriented in order to meet tight deadlines
  • Superior ability to work well with others and be an effective team member
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Superior customer service and interpersonal skills
