THE OPPORTUNITY


We are looking for an HR Manager to join our Thomson Power Systems business unit (under Regal Rexnord), based out of Langley, BC.

In this position, you will be a vital member of a small yet mighty HR team, reporting to the HR Director.

This role is ideal for a proactive, efficient self-starter who is energized by a high-paced environment and possesses the perfect combination of interpersonal savvy and analytical prowess.


Your responsibilities will be diverse:
from offering Tactical/Admin HR Support, overseeing Employee Relations, to coordinating engagement events and fielding general HR inquiries. Additionally, you will support the HR Director in driving forward-looking projects and assist in the recruiting and onboarding activities.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

As an HR Manager, you will be providing support directly to the HR Director and collaborating with key stakeholders to advance the Company's objectives.


Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing reliable administrative support for daytoday HR operations to ensure efficiency and organizational effectiveness.
  • Serving as a primary contact for HRrelated inquiries, providing prompt and accurate information to employees.
  • Confidently addressing employee and labor relations issues, conducting thorough investigations, and implementing corrective actions as necessary to maintain workplace harmony.
  • Assisting the HR Director with initiatives aimed at talent development and retention, thereby supporting the business in achieving its strategic goals.
  • Assisting with the fullcycle recruitment efforts and onboarding processes to ensure a smooth transition for new hires.
  • Developing and executing engaging training programs through Thomson Power University to promote continuous learning and development.
  • Championing a culture of high engagement and performance, fostering an inclusive environment that values diversity and teamwork.
  • Managing various HR projects that contribute to our strategic objectives, demonstrating your project management skills and HR acumen.
  • Planning and orchestrating corporate events that reflect our company culture and enhance employee engagement and team cohesion.
  • Maintaining meticulous HR records and systems, ensuring data integrity and compliance.

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Postsecondary degree or diploma required in Human Resources or related field.
  • Professional HR certification (such as SHRM-CP or CHRP) would be an advantage.
  • 710 years of HR experience minimum; ideally within a manufacturing environment, and unionized setting.
  • Experience working within a growing company, and/or a business unit that is part of a global parent company, and comfortably navigating the complexities that come with it, would be ideal.
  • Experience in conducting investigations and addressing labor relations issues in a professional and legal manner would be preferred.
  • A background in creating and delivering training programs and in talent acquisition processes would be an asset.
  • Technically savvy, experience with Microsoft Office products, HRIS systems (ADP, Workday, Kronos, etc) with a keen ability to learn and adapt to new technologies.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the capacity to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Proven experience successfully handling a large workload, thriving in a fastpaced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive matters with discretion and confidentiality.
  • Strong understanding of employment laws and regulations.
  • A creative flair for owning social engagement initiatives, fostering a positive and enthusiastic workplace culture.
  • Exceptional communication skills, providing timely updates and proactive feedback.
  • A selfstarter with a relentless drive for continuous improvement and making an impact, under mínimal supervision.
  • A strong sense of urgency and efficiency in completing work tasks.
  • A continuous improvement mindset with the drive to seek out ways to streamline and improve HR processes and initiatives.
