About this opportunity
Reporting to the Manager, Prepress & Creative Services, this position is required to support the print output activities associated with the Digital Print business for Large Format Printing.
What you will do
- Work independently to complete required Colour Management tasks;
- Define and evaluate printed spot colour swatches and choose spot colour values that best match across all Presses and Substrates;
- Create client spot colour sample swatch files for all substrates required including press submission and InDesign swatch library;
- Maintain Spot Colour Libraries and communicate profile and spot colour particulars to Prepress and Project Managers;
- G7 Calibration of all Presses and Prepress devices;
- Quality control of all presses;
- Oversee colour consistency across all TC ISM Business Units;
- Colour correct files and adjust output according to client specifications;
- Edit high resolution images in Photoshop;
- Follow client brand style guides and maintain consistent files;
- Communicate effectively with supervisor, customers, coworkers, account managers and all preproduction personnel;
- Provide technical advice, support and participate and assist in ongoing training as needed;
- Perform all other duties as requested by Management in order to help the team effort, including availability for overtime work;
- Support and contribute to a healthy and safe work environment by following all workplace regulations, policies, and initiatives, including reporting all first aid injuries, accidents, and workplace hazards.
What you have to offer
- Post-Secondary education in graphic arts along with a minimum two (5) years experience in graphic arts industry and Colour Management;
- Thorough understanding of various substrates and their uses in relation to LFD equipment and production;
- Strong knowledge of print processes and the direct affect to the artwork;
- Must understand color management and color correcting procedures;
- Expert skills in Adobe CC;
- A positive attitude and the ability to work independently in a fastpaced team environment;
- Highly organized, creative and logical thinker;
- Ability to find creative solutions for complex layouts while adhering to client style guides;
- Experience with both Macintosh and PC (Windows) computer platforms and all relevant design software;
- Thorough understanding of PDF workflow;
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as dockets and procedure manuals;
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with customers and employees;
- Ability to work overtime as required.
