The Allied Health Services (AHS) team, under Professional Practice consists of Regulated Healthcare Professional including: Nursing, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Language Pathology, Social Work, Registered Dietitians, Respiratory Therapy, as well as unregulated Rehabilitation Assistants.

Each discipline is focused on driving evidence informed practice to promote high quality patient and family centered care.


The team has a Professional Practice Leader (PPL) model for each regulated allied health discipline which promotes and enhances the interprofessional team.

Each discipline has their own PPL with dedicated time to enhance their communities of practice, represent their respective disciplines at committees, create policies & procedures and lead corporate level initiatives.


RVH is undergoing significant growth, including a capital plan that will see the current North Campus double in size over the next ten years, while developing the new South Campus in Innisfil.

We are currently seeking
a full time Communicative Disorder Assistant (CDA) to support our inpatient acute care, inpatient rehabilitation, and outpatient stroke programs.


The successful CDA will be responsible for documenting and communicating all appropriate information to the assigning SLP they are working with and as necessary with other health team members, to ensure the best possible care is given to each patient as well as ensure safety for both personal and patient safety.


  • Secondary School Diploma or Equivalent required
  • Graduate of the Communicative Disorders Assistant diploma/program mandatory

  • Strong interpersonal communication skills, focusing on patient centered care
  • CDA experience in acute hospital and rehabilitative care settings
  • Knowledge of the use and purpose of therapeutic communicative strategies for inpatient care settings
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work successfully within an interprofessional team
