WHAT YOU'LL DO:


The Child and Youth Worker (CYW) works as a member of a collaborative multidisciplinary team to provide assessment, meal support, behavioural counselling and supportive therapy to children and adolescent patients and their families/supports in the Outpatient Eating Disorder Clinic - primarily working in the Day Treatment Program.

The CYW models both professional and organizational core competencies


WHAT YOU'LL BRING:


  • Child and Youth Worker college diploma (3 year program) or B.A. Child and Youth Care required.
  • Member of the Ontario Association of Child and Youth Care preferred
  • Crisis intervention training (i.e., Crisis Prevention Institute course or equivalent) is preferred
  • Three (3) to five (5) relevant years of work experience with children and adolescents
  • Experience working in multidisciplinary teams is preferred
  • Knowledge of eating disorders; diagnostic criteria and treatment within the child and adolescent population preferred
  • Experience in a mental health setting (outpatient or inpatient) is required
  • Experience working with youth with a diagnosis of eating disorders
  • Experience in a classroom setting and running group programming

  • Ability to work closely and collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team in an outpatient setting including day treatment
  • Demonstrated flexibility, collaborative approaches to patient care
  • Ability to develop and consistently implement treatment and care plans in collaboration with care team
  • Participate in, and promote, continuous quality improvement initiatives
  • Participate in, and promote, evidencebased practice
