Description

Under the supervision of the Senior Clerk, the Parking Services Clerk is responsible for interpreting and entering parking closure details used to calculate, track and create invoices, including requests for paystation removal and installs.

This position is also responsible for responding to the Operations and On-Street Kana Queues for citizen inquiries, determines the eligibility for and processing of Time Limited Parking and Loading Zone Requests, and issuance of Parkade Parking Vouchers.


As the
_Parking Services Clerk_
you will:

  • Interpret parking closures, compile supporting information, calculate billing detail information using Iview, google maps and Traffic regulations, and enter information into the tracking system.
  • Program and issue Parkade parking vouchers.
  • Provide clerical support for the Operations Department.
  • Perform other related duties consistent with the classification in support of the Operations Department as assigned.

Your education and qualifications include:


  • High School diploma or G.E.D. supplemented by formal training in business administration or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum one year experience performing customer service duties, including collecting and explaining detailed technical information to/from customers.
  • Experience working with Kana software including processing requests.
  • Experience working with various software packages including Microsoft Outlook, Word (intermediate), and Excel (intermediate).
  • Ability to type accurately at 40 wpm (net).
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to perform work with a high level of accuracy.
  • Ability to compute accurate mathematical calculations, in a timely manner.
  • Strong organization and time management skills with the ability to prioritize work to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to gather pertinent information, problem solve and exercise sound judgment regarding customer complaints, research or referrals.
  • Ability to learn and adapt to new technology.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with employees at all levels of the organization, external contacts and the public.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to follow written and verbal instruction, and communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with customers and internal staff.
  • Ability to work independently with mínimal supervision.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality with respect to dealing with sensitive documents.
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to maintain composure and deal with a variety of diverse customers with tact and diplomacy.
  • Ability to perform miscellaneous clerical tasks consistent with the classification, as required.
  • General accounting or bookkeeping experience and knowledge is an asset.
