Two (2) Full Time (40 hrs per week), Summer Students (May-August)
The Organization
The Opportunity
Key Responsibilities
- Develop a catalogue of artists for commission.
- Assist with workshops and events.
- Provide information at events promoting the Métis Artist Collective.
- Provide support to daily operations of the Métis Artists Collective.
- Prepare and distribute correspondence in relation to the operations of the Collective.
- Present a positive and professional image of the organization when interacting with employees, citizens, visitors, and other external stakeholders.
- Assist with administration of MNA Provincial events & programs.
- Other duties as required or assigned.

We are looking for motivated, confident individuals who are passionate about community work and Métis art. Commitment to teamwork is required in dealing with colleagues in everyday working environment.
Other skills/competencies include:
- Knowledge around Indigenous Arts.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships.
- Strong planning and organizational skills, with an ability to organize and prioritize daily tasks and longterm objectives.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Willingness to learn and develop new skills.
- Flexible and adaptable, with an ability to switch between multiple priorities.
- Ability to work with and convey messages to different audiences.
- Ability to produce professional reports, documents, and presentations.
- Political and cultural sensitivity.
- Knowledge of Métis history, culture, and issues affecting Métis people. An indepth understanding of the MNA and Métis culture is an asset.
Qualifications
- Postsecondary education in Arts, Arts Administration, Fine Arts, Theatre Arts, Music, or related field is preferred. Other relevant training and experience will be considered.
- 12 years of retail experience.
- Experience with event planning and/or workshops is an asset. School or volunteer experience is valid experience.
- Experience working with Indigenous communities is an asset.
Other Requirements
- Availability to work Monday to Friday 8:30 am 4:30 pm.
- Ability to work evenings and weekends, with notice.
- Ability to travel throughout Alberta is a requirement.
- Reliable transportation and valid Class 5 driver's license.
