7.5 HOURS, DAYS/ EVENING/ WEEKEND SHIFT SCHEDULE (Subject to change)


SALARY:
$ $39.260 per hour

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


Under the direction of the departmental Manager, the Clerical and Support Supervisor is responsible for all Diagnostic Imaging clerical and support operations at all sites.

Ensures the smooth operation of the department through scheduling, mentoring, recruiting, team building, retention and the development of clerical, assistant and support staff.

In conjunction with the Manager, the Supervisor is responsible for ensuring accuracy of procedure billing issues, wait-time reporting; ensuring legal cases and complaints from all sources are effectively addressed.

All other duties as assigned by the Manager.


QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Medical Office Administration Diploma and 5 years relevant experience in a hospital clerical or Diagnostic Imaging setting, preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience;
  • Recent relevant experience with procedural billing, claim reconciliation, WTIS reporting and handling legal cases
  • Recent experience (minimum two years) in a staff scheduling role in a high volume unionized environment
  • Indepth knowledge and understanding of the CUPE collective agreement;
  • Proven sound knowledge of relevant hospital policies and procedures
  • Proven related experience in Meditech including staff scheduling and payroll;
  • Proven proficiency in Epic including Radiant Front Desk, and other ancillary Radiant modules
  • Strong project management skills;
  • Knowledge of medical terminology;
  • Keyboarding skills 40 w.p.m.;
  • Proven excellent attendance record with capability of maintaining this same standard;
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Diagnostic Imaging departmental operations;
  • Proven exceptional organization, prioritization, problem solving and time management skills;
  • Ability to work productively despite distractions and interruptions;
  • Effective interpersonal abilities, written and verbal communication skills;
  • Excellent customer service skills, able to deal effectively with patient related issues;
  • Demonstrates effective working relationships, and partners with the Manager to ensure a collaborative and appropriate work setting;
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development activities;
  • Operationalizes the success of the department by anticipating and minimizing organizational and unitbased barriers;
  • Proven flexibility, initiative, independent judgment and ability to be selfdirected within scope of responsibility;
  • Must have a satisfactory performance record;
