About the Opportunity:


The Virtual Clinical Care Team Outpatient Manager (Child & Adult) is responsible for planning, developing, implementing, supervising and evaluating the Mental Health and Addictions Provincial Virtual Care Team.

The team is provincial, working remotely across all zones to support clients using virtual platforms such as Zoom. The Manager will oversee the clinical and administrative operations for the team.


The position monitors clinical service delivery on a day-to-day basis to ensure service provision is in accordance with Nova Scotia Health Authority's policies and procedures and is compliant with evidence-based practice, provincial standards, accreditation requirements and provincial service delivery model.

Working closely with the Directors, Chiefs of Psychiatry, other MHAP Managers, and all other relevant staff, physician and academic leaders, the Manager provides strategic and operational leadership that supports excellence in service delivery, integration of mental health and addiction service provision, and collaboration with other program areas.


About You:


  • Masters Degree in a recognized health discipline or related field with five (5) years' experience in a health system preferred; OR
  • Bachelor Degree in a recognized discipline/field, with five (5) years' experience in professional practice or leadership capacity and two (2) additional years' experience in practice for a total of seven (7) years' experience
  • Registered/eligible for registration and a member in good standing of the relevant regulatory body
  • Member of the Canadian College of Health Leadership with CHE designation or equivalent is an asset
  • Minimum of five (5) years experience in working in the health field (MHA preferred)
  • Formal leadership experience in the health care field (MHA experience preferred)
  • Experience and understanding of the Choice and Partnership approach (CAPA) an asset
  • Demonstrated ability to define a vision and guide individuals and groups toward the vision while maintaining group cohesiveness, motivation, commitment and effectiveness
  • Management skills demonstrated through planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluating
  • Ability to manage human resources, financial resources, capital/material assets and information
  • Understanding / experience working with virtual technologies an asset
  • Demonstrated accountability and responsibility
