The Programs and Partnerships Branch (PPB) is responsible for driving the International Development and Research Centre's pursuit of increased global impact and the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals.

Our employment opportunity of the moment:Operations Lead**The Branch is currently seeking to fill a permanent
Operations Lead position in its Climate-Resilient Food Systems program division to be based in Ottawa (Hybrid Mode). This position will have a particular focus on the provision of strategic management, coordination and administrative support used to develop the execution and evaluation of programming activities.


Tasked with the responsibility of leading, coordinating, reporting and tracking operational activities, the Operations Lead will be key to ensure the adoption of an integrated approach to program management.

This position will report to the Program Director and will support the program area by assuming responsibilities related to:

  • Strategic Program Coordination
  • Operational Management
  • Program Management and coordination

Education:


  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline such as Business Administration, Public Policy Administration, etc.
  • A Project Management Professional Certification (PMP) is an asset

Experience:

Five (5) years of combined experience in program management coordination and Operational Management, including:

  • Supervising a unit or a group
  • Leading the administrative support, organizational coordination, and support to a unit or group
  • Providing administrative oversight and coordination of multistakeholder processes
  • Leading and managing projects
  • Researching best practices and recommending improvements to processes and workflows
  • Collaborating and communicating with various audiences and stakeholders

Language:


  • Proficiency in English and French (reading, writing, and speaking)

Knowledge:


  • Administrative coordination tools and processes
  • Operational processes relevant to program monitoring, evaluation, and the development of learning plans
  • Effective internal program level and branch level communication strategies used to facilitate valuable communications between offices across regions
  • Corporate strategies, monitoring frameworks, as well as specific programlevel thematic

Competencies:


  • Superior interpersonal and communication (oral and written) skills
  • Results oriented with strong strategic thinking and project management skills
  • Ability to provide specialized advice and guidance
  • Ability to perform research tasks including analyzing and synthesizing information from a variety of sources
  • Ability to adapt quickly to change in a fastpaced environment
  • Value and model diversity, inclusion and equity

Additional Information:


Hybrid Mode:
Have the flexibility to work in hybrid mode (at least 3 days out of 10 in the office).

This position requires occasional international travel.
