About the Role:


You will contribute by:


  • Overseeing the daily editorial agenda, placing an emphasis on producing original content.
  • Determining daily editorial priorities for Global News in Regina, driving the daily story meetings, and assigning process.
  • Working with the Managing Editor, Digital to champion online coverage throughout the day to ensure digital platforms are prioritized.
  • Managing content requests for Regina with other stations and the Network News Desk.
  • Leading vetting in Regina and work with the MMC News Director and Assignment Editor to ensure dynamic and engaging content is driving each daily Newscast.
  • Monitoring story development throughout the day and provide guidance to local reporters.
  • Ensuring integration between broadcast and online.
  • Coordinating daily and future editorial plans.
  • Ensuring proper editorial resources are assigned to meet the needs of our local news platforms.
  • Assisting MMC News Director to coordinate resources, human and technical, for all special projects and requests.
  • Developing and maintain a high editorial standard that includes effective writing, editing, and storytelling.
  • Supervising Digital Broadcast Journalists in Regina and oversee various operational requirements pertaining to performance, scheduling and timesheets.
  • Ensuring proper training of new and current employees.
  • Other duties as required.

Skills and experience you will bring:

  • Post-secondary education in journalism, communications, or a related field.
  • An extensive background in broadcast news.
  • Demonstrably strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • An amazing attitude that will engage and motivate teams.
  • A track record of creative storytelling with strong production skills.
  • Must be able to adapt under pressure and be able to work in a fastpaced environment.
  • Working knowledge of digital tools and technologies.
  • Must be able to handle the demands and pressure of multiple, daily deadlines for online and broadcast.
  • A valid driver's license and clean driver's abstract.
