Project Manager - Mississauga, Canada - Achev
Description
The project manager will oversee all aspects of the Skilled Trades Connections project.This includes developing and monitoring project plans, schedules, budgets, and expenditures, organizing and participating in stakeholder meetings, supervising staff, and ensuring that project deadlines are met in a timely manner.
The Skilled Trades Connection (STC) project takes a collaborative approach offering an integrated, efficient and seamless pathway to skills development and employment for BIPOC youth to in-demand careers in the construction trades.
- Develop and monitor project plans, schedules, and timely completion of deliverables
- Recruit, supervise and support project staff, conduct performance reviews and provide professional development
- Manage project budget, review and approve expenses, monitor cash flow, forecast costs and review financial claims.
- Manage project activities, track and communicate project status, issues, risks, and decisions to stakeholders.
- Prepare and deliver projectrelated reports and presentations
- Oversee program outreach/promotion
- Analyze project data and lead continuous improvement processes
- Collaborate with management and operational staff on facilities and operational issues as needed and contribute to the OneAchev team initiatives
- Other duties as needed
- Post Secondary Degree or diploma in relevant area project management, communications, employment services
- Project management certification or work experience is recommended.
- 2+ years direct project coordination or management experience
- Able to provide leadership and direction in a hybrid team environment.
- Exceptional verbal, written, and presentation skills.
- Experience analyzing program data, evaluations and preparing reports
- Ability to work on tight deadlines
- Familiarity with government reporting, processes, and portals would be an asset
- Experience and understanding working with BIPOC youth
- Knowledge of the skilled trade industry strongly preferred
- Provision of a satisfactory Criminal Record Check upon employment
- Ability to travel in the GTA as needed
- Must have multitask skills
- Able to work and perform under pressure
- Be able to work flexible hours to meet client and staff needs
- Familiar with Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training & Skills Development reporting style would be an asset
