If so, a student position at AIMCo might be the opportunity for you to gain the experience you need to launch your career while contributing to the financial security of hundreds of thousands of Albertans.

Highly successful students at AIMCo share many of the same characteristics. They are intellectually curious, diligent, and responsible, with a desire to enhance their finance, data, programming, and communications skills. They take advantage of their time at AIMCo by building relationships with our talented workforce and each other.

The Derivatives Operations team provides support for the Investment Management team at AIMCo by managing operational functions for Over the Counter (OTC) and cleared derivatives.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook)

  • Ability to use a collaborative approach to achieve goals and produce results.
  • Understanding and passion for investments is an asset.
Success Measures

The student will become familiar enough with derivatives to support the daily work required to ensure payment and contractual obligations are met, resolve discrepancies with counterparties by leveraging the knowledge gained on ISDA confirmations and legal terms within, as well as develop collaborative professional relationships both internally at AIMCo and externally with derivative counterparties.
