Horizontal Directional Drill Operator
The Horizontal Directional Drill Operator is an integral part of the Southview Group team.

The successful applicant will be relied upon to safely and efficiently complete underground conduit installations efficiently and safely in cooperation with a larger crew.

Responsibilities:

Operate Horizontal Directional Drill and locating system
Complete small repairs and maintenance on equipment in field
Safely transport equipment to jobsite
Read and understand locates, conduit plans, and work orders to ensure conduit is installed per client specifications
Complete daily paperwork as required
Assist field crew members in tasks as required such as; loading/unloading equipment, ensuring the safety of the jobsite, greasing/maintaining equipment, tooling changes, etc.
Other duties as required

Requirements:

Strong safety acumen
Respect for coworkers, company, and the general public

- minimum 1 year experience in directional drilling and locating (Vermeer and DCI product experience preferred)

Previous experience in shallow utility installations
Mechanical inclination
Ability to work independently with mínimal supervision
Professional demeanor

Essential Physical Functions

Hear and distinguish emergency signals and instructions while on duty
Must be able to repetitively sit, lift, stoop, bend, squat, kneel, reach and crawl
Must be able to repeatedly lift a minimum of 50 pounds
Must be able to work in all outdoor elements (rain, snow, heat) for extended periods of time
Confined Space Entry may be required to accomplish tasks for some clients when applicable
Be able to wear PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)
Must be capable of working extended hours and variable shifts
Must be eligible to work in Canada

Salary:
$28.00-$45.00 per hour
