Job Title:
Hospitality Manager


Schedule:
Full-Time, 40 hours a week


Position Summary:
Manage all aspects of dining experiences.

Assist in special event and engagement program operations to provide exceptional service to all residents, guests and coworkers by performing essential duties effectively and efficiently.

Ensure that all aspects of food and beverage services are in adherence with Brightwaters policies while being fiscally responsible.


Qualifications:


  • Have two years' relevant management experience.
  • Maintain current Food Handler Card and Liquor permit.
  • Maintain any certifications as required by state or provincial regulations.
  • Demonstrate ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical functions (e.g., probability, predictability, deductions, fractions, percentages, ratios, proportions) to order supplies, convert recipes, etc.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Ability to operate POS computer, make correct change and process credit card transactions.
  • Basic knowledge of Excel, Publisher and Word.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:


  • Adhere to Brightwater standards and policies for engagement programs, calendars, and events.
  • Maintain resident, employee, and community information in strict confidence (with community management or other employees as necessary).
  • Directly oversee front of house personnel duties, including but not limited to:
  • Recruiting, hiring, supervising, evaluating, counseling, and, if necessary, terminating front of house dining services and engagement employees.
  • Create, implement and conduct routine staff meetings, preshift meetings, and training programs.
  • Assure staff is appropriately trained.
  • Establish standards for service personnel performance and customer service.
  • Assure servers are in dress code and order additional shirts and aprons as necessary.
  • Complete and maintain monthly work schedule and duties for front of house personnel.
  • Adheres to and enforces all company sanitation and safety procedures.
  • Monitor the training of and enforce daily completion of proper cleaning standards for all equipment and service areas.
  • Monitor use of and order service supplies as necessary.
  • Monitor employee and patron activities in order to ensure liquor regulations are obeyed.
  • Assist in monitoring compliance with health, fire and Liquor regulations regarding food and beverage preparation and service and building maintenance in dining and kitchen facilities.
  • Assist in research, development, design and updating, maintenance and costing wine list and drink menus.
  • Takes weekly inventory of wine and beer consumption in order to anticipate amounts to be purchased and/or requisitioned to maintain par levels.
  • Possess proficient knowledge of preparation of drinks and keeps updated on new and revised beverage recipes.
  • Maintain and create all Banquet Event Orders for engagement programs and dining services.
  • Assists servers in bar knowledge (e.g. proper glassware, correct garnish, ingredients, etc.).
  • Control waste in all areas including labor, food, beverage and alcohol.
  • Complete Resident Meal Attendance Log.
  • Obtain complimentary and paid meal tickets from guests and record number of guest meals.
  • Seat late arriving residents and guests as well as serve portion of meal missed.
  • Address resident dining issues promptly (e.g., missing or change of food item, etc.).
  • Ability to remain calm when confronted with an angry resident or guest.
  • Capable of performing the work of all subordinates, including but not limited to:
  • Taking orders;
  • Serving food and drinks;
  • Clearing tables;
  • Read/write notes to hearing impaired guest and/or read menus to sightimpaired guests.
  • Help in physical setup, execution and breakdown of social functions and events.
  • Keep immediate supervisor promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance and take prompt corrective actions where necessary or suggest alternative course of action that may be taken.
