This position is based out of Camp Hill, Veterans Memorial Building.
About You:
We would love to hear from you if you have the following:
- A post-secondary diploma with a concentration in Therapeutic Recreation from an accredited educational institution or a diploma
- Standard First Aid
- Non-Violent Crisis Intervention considered an asset
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (BCLS CPR)
- Experience working with individuals with physical/cognitive disabilities
- Experience working with older adults who have dementia
- Ability to work effectively within a team or other healthcare professionals
- Ability to assist in the plan, develop, implement and evaluation of Therapeutic Recreation programs
- Effective listening and communication skills; ability to motivate residents
- Adaptability/Flexibility: changing and adapting skills to changing patient populations and/or worksites
- Ability to work independently, without direct supervision
- Ability to understand medical terminology used in a clinical area, and use within the documentation
- Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
Hours:
- Long assignment, Fulltime position; 75 hours biweekly
- Approximately a 12month assignment
- Schedule include weekend rotation and some evenings
Compensation and Incentives:
$ $25.82 Hourly
