Reporting to the Principal Investigator (PI), and under the direction of the Research Manager, the Research Assistant contributes to the research study by assisting with recruitment, administration of tests and interviews, collection of biological samples, data collection, study administration, by providing administrative support and entering study data.

FORBOW aims to identify risk in youth at an early stage, when pre-emptive interventions may prevent the development of mental illness.

FORBOW involves children and youth (age years) and their parents, some of whom are living with mental illness (depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia).

About You:

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

  • Currently enrolled in post-secondary education in a relevant discipline (Psychology, Science required
  • Completed Bachelor or Masters Degree in a relevant discipline (Psychology, Science) preferred
  • Effective communication, problem solving and decision making skills
  • Well developed organizational, time management and daily planning skills
  • Ability to work well independently as well as within a multidisciplinary team environment
  • Previous experience in a health care or clinical setting is an asset
  • Experience working with children and youth preferred
  • Experience with mental illness an asset
  • Knowledge of diagnostic criteria for mental and behavioral disorders is an asset
  • Experience with cognitive testing an asset
  • Ability to deal with a wide variety of people in a professional manner
  • Competencies in multiple languages an asset, French preferred
  • Successful Applicants are required to provide a criminal record check (including Vulnerable Sector Search) to Human Resources before starting employment and assume any associated costs as a condition of employment.

Hours of Work:


  • Long Assignment, Full-Time (75 hours biweekly)
  • Beginning August 6, 2024 until August 29, 2025
    Compensation and Benefits:
$ $27.92 Hourly

$43, $54,454.92 Annually
