The BC Wildfire Service (BCWS) is the Province of BC's primary emergency response organization. It operates year-round to deliver its mandate for wildfire management and response to natural hazard emergencies.

The BCWS operates provincially, delivering services through six fire centres, thirty-three zones and two provincial centres in Kamloops and Victoria.


Reporting to the Executive Director (ED), BC Wildfire Service, the position provides executive coordination of information, correspondence, issues and business plans for the ED and the Executive Leadership Team (ELT).


Job Requirements:


  • Secondary school graduation and 3 years related experience
  • Related experience may include:
  • Experience working independently with mínimal supervision and direction
  • Experience responding quickly and effectively to changing priorities
  • Experience establishing and maintaining administrative processes and/or procedures (e.g., administrative, approval protocols

About this Position:

This is a temporary opportunity until March 30, 2024.

A permanent appointment may result from this temporary appointment.
An eligibility list may be established to fill future temporary and permanent vacancies.


Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work from home a few days a week as per the Telework Agreement.
