Plains has a great opportunity for a highly motivated student to join our Sarnia Ontario team for an 8 or 12-month term position beginning in May 1, 2023.

Responsibilities:


  • Administer and account for service contracts and invoices;
  • Provide cost tracking project support;
  • Perform general accounting services journal entry preparations, reconciliations, and audit request;
  • Perform project spend trend analysis & forecasts;
  • Preparation of monthly project accruals and variance to budget explanations;
  • Continually identifying areas of improvements, documenting potential efficiencies and participating in process improvement opportunities;
  • Attend internal meetings, where applicable; and
  • Assist in various ad hoc requests as required.

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in fulltime studies in a postsecondary institution, working towards a degree in business, finance or accounting;Prior work experience is an asset;
  • Both formal and nonformal coop students are eligible to apply;
  • A selfstarter who is driven to learn;
  • Ability to synthesize information to get to key aspects and provide supported conclusions/recommendations;
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast paced environment and to adapt to changing business conditions;
  • Demonstrated strong analytical and organizational skills;
  • Proficiency with MS Office including Excel, Word and Outlook;
  • Live within 120km radius from our Sarnia office;
  • Ability to work well within a team environment and under mínimal supervision; and
  • Cleared criminal history (background) and satisfactory reference checks.
