Job ResponsibilitiesSpecifically, the instructor will be responsible for:
- Delivering instruction that meets module and program objectives as set out in the curriculum
- Evaluating student performance fairly and consistently
- Contributing to the development of curriculum and instructional materials
- Supporting the administrative functions of the campus to enhance the student experience
- Acting in a manner that upholds the College standards
- Participating in College and Program Activities
- Monitoring and reviewing students during practicum and/or clinical placements, as program requires
Qualifications:
To be successful in the Instructor position, individuals must be committed to developing, maintaining and demonstrating the following:
Education and Experience:
All Early Childhood/Childcare Assistant Instructors must meet MINIMUM approved Program requirements.
The following qualifications are the minimum qualifications, and MUST be met for the primary Early Childhood/Childcare Assistant Program Instructor:
- A Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood/Childcare Education with a minimum of two (2) years current working experience as an Early Childhood/Childcare Educator and current membership in the provincial association for Early Childhood Educators OR
- An Early Childhood/Childcare Educator's Diploma from a registered college with a minimum of two (2) years current working experience as an Early Childhood/Childcare Educator and current membership in the provincial association for Early Childhood/Childcare Educators.
- Instructor must also meet instructor qualification standards as set by the Ministry regulating Private Career Colleges in your province. Recommendation Instructor should have some formal training and/or experience in teaching adults in an educational setting.
Skills and Abilities:
- Friendly, enthusiastic and energetic
- Professional, punctual, dependable and trustworthy
- A good team player good oral communication skills, including listening skills certificate in First Aid and CPR, and clear criminal record check
- Ability to work effectively with children in a child focused environment demonstrates understanding of the stages of child development.
- Good observation and supervision skills respectful, courteous, patient and caring interest in and appreciation for children demonstrates confidence and pride in work aware of fire, safety and health regulations
- Good time management and organizational skills ability to model good behavior and attitude ability to follow confidentiality guidelines

Part-time
Salary:
$20.00-$30.00 per hour
