You have a passion for the environment and water resources.
You enjoy a challenge and getting hands-on experience out in the field, from well drilling to aquifer testing, and everything in between You have an internal drive to meet high standards and provide quality effort for great outcomes.
You will integrate into a relatively new team of geoscientists, engineers, technologists and technicians and provide office and field support for hydrogeological investigations both in the urban and rural development sectors.
Plan, coordinate and conduct hydrogeological investigation programs including drilling, test pitting and installation of monitoring wellsManage, analyze, and interpret a variety of environmental data
Complete hydrogeological assessments for municipal and industrial infrastructure projects and private water servicing
Oversee aquifer testing and analysis (slug tests and water well pumping tests)
Write technical reports for hydrogeological and environmental assessments and investigations
Assist in preparing technical proposals including the work plans, scope, and budgets
Prepare and submit groundwater-related regulatory applications (i.e. Field work in all seasons, travel and overtime may be required
A university degree in Hydrogeology, Geology, Environmental, or Water Resources Engineering, or similar program
~ Experience in hydrogeologic analysis and interpretation
~ Experience in evaluation of soil and groundwater chemistry (organic and inorganic)
~ Working knowledge of evaluating groundwater data with respect to environmental regulations
~ Demonstrated ability to use hydrogeology software tools (e.g., Experience working closely with drilling or other contractors
~ Outstanding organizational, communication, and technical skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage several assignments at one time
~ Familiarity with relevant federal and provincial legislation and regulations
~ Ability to communicate well with others and engage in technical conversations
~ A valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle
~ The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent communication skills with fluency (reading, writing and oral) in English.
