TNO - The Neighbourhood Organization (TNO) is a well-established community-based social and health service agency providing a wide range of programs and services supporting low-income and newcomer communities across Ontario and sometimes across different provinces through online services and referrals.

We are seeking a
Housing Worker to join our team in a
full-time permanent role. TNO is a great place to work and we make a difference in the communities we serve.

Reporting directly to the Program Manager, the Housing Worker operates under day-to-day supervision. The role also involves overseeing volunteers and placement students.

The primary responsibility is to deliver housing help services within a case management framework to individuals facing homelessness or at risk of being homeless.

This includes supporting clients in finding and maintaining housing through affordable options and tailored assistance.

Duties encompass providing referral and intensive follow-up support to those with complex needs, including mental health and physical issues, ensuring improved access to resources and services.

The role involves counseling, offering information and assistance to clients seeking housing, and addressing various housing-related concerns.

Regular accompaniments and client visits, liaison with landlords and service providers, goal-setting, and advocacy for tenant rights are essential components.

The Housing Worker also ensures program compliance, fosters community partnerships, and facilitates referrals to relevant community resources.


Screening - As a condition of employment, the successful applicant must complete a Vulnerable Sector Screening.

Full-time permanent position

Schedule:
Monday to Friday, 35 hours a week - Some evenings and weekends may be required
