Compliance and Service Level Coordinator:

What You Will Get To Do


Reporting to the Manager of Enforcement Services, the Compliance and Service Level ("CSL") Coordinator position is required to manage, promote and ensure that Department established service levels and response are being attained, and to ensure consistency in enforcement within the Enforcement Services Division.


The CSL Coordinator position is a fast paced, multi-dimensional position that is involved in the operation and assists with supervision of the Enforcement Services Division.

This position will take the lead on delivery day-to-day service delivery of the operation through directing for specific duties, school enforcement or other patrols and special projects.


The CSL Coordinator is expected to work with the Town's enforcement staff to manage response to complaints received by the Enforcement Services Division.

The CSL Coordinator is to monitor investigations, response and resolution timelines for complaints received. Strong inter-personal skills, varied communication techniques and supervisory control are used to lead, motivate and encourage staff.

The Coordinator is expected to utilize the established services levels contained in the Standard Operating Procedure, and to encourage efficiency from staff in responding and gaining compliance to complaints received.

- ensure consistency with training of new staff and offer guidance to current Officers;
- develop and build individual onboarding and Divisional training plans;
- assist with assessing and developing shift scheduling/ADP where required;
- schedule staff to specific duties/patrols/special projects to cover all functions and areas of enforcement;
- assist in developing Divisional Standard Operating Procedures to promote consistency in enforcement within the community amongst all officers;
- respond to inquiries from officers on Divisional Standard Operating Procedures;
- monitor ongoing staff task lists to ensure the Division is meeting established departmental service Levels;
- ensure current divisional service levels are attained;
- supervise enforcement staff for extended hours (outside core hours);
- provide coordination of fleet assignment and repairs;
- coordinate service level response (school zones, waterfront etc.) ensuring adequate staff resources;
- implement tracking measures for Amanda;
- assist with Amanda upgrades to streamline services;
- recommend and initiate discipline through consultation with Supervisor/Manager of Enforcement Services;
- develop training manuals, flowcharts or the resources to assist staff with by-law processes and enforcement;
- ensure that officers are trained on proper investigation techniques and are gathering all necessary evidence to ensure a reasonable prospect of conviction when by-law charges are commenced;
- monitor Officer task lists on a daily basis, as well as individual investigations, to ensure that Officers are responding and completing investigations within the parameters of the established service level in a timely manner;
- develop, recommend, and monitor individual Officer training/professional development plans; and,
