The Role:
_Test Controls Specialist_**

  • R&D
  • Mechanical Group
  • Process Group

Key Responsibilities:


  • Works as a member of the R&D test station development team to design and commission test rigs for various projects at Svante.
  • Communicates directly with software contractors.
  • Assists in commissioning the designed test stations in the lab including electrical and software components.
  • Troubleshoots test station startup, shutdown, and operating performance issues.
  • Creates engineering documentation to support commissioning testing, operation, and maintenance manuals.
  • Produces technical specifications and selects instrumentation and equipment.
  • Carries out other related tasks and projects as required.

Key Qualifications:


  • 35 years experience, familiar using:
  • Control systems (PLC, Allen Bradley or similar)
  • PLC Programming (Ladder logic)
  • HMI Programming and configuration (FactoryTalk, LabVIEW or similar)
  • Electrical fundamentals and panel design
  • Industrial process control (control valves, pumps, heaters, PID loops)
  • Working knowledge of Windows Operating system and Networking.
  • Experience using Office software.
  • Experience using Visio.
  • Team player.
  • Selfmotivated.
  • Has a valid work permit in Canada.
  • Work in company office in Burnaby on daily basis.
  • Fluent oral and written English.
