Course Name and Number:

The RA reports to the Principal Investigator (PI), Dr. Dubrowski.

The RA will be responsible for organizing and overseeing all aspects of the project, coordinating selected activities of the investigators and research team members, and managing the associated budgets, timelines, contracts, deliverables, and project documentations such as communications, status reports and contracts for the grant that supports this project.


Responsibilities/Accountabilities:


  • Ensure Research Ethics Board approvals and project documents are completed as required
  • Assist with the design and development of data collection tools (e.g., surveys, interview and focus group guides)
  • Recruit leadership from the university and faculty, individual course instructors, students and external stakeholders (e.g. simulation experts) into the project
  • Assist with inperson/virtual data collection
  • Assist with data management, including checking data deliverables for accuracy
  • Assist with quantitative and qualitative data analysis and interpretation
  • Engage with knowledge users and create useful knowledge translation products
  • General project management which may include:
  • Communicate effectively with staff and students
  • Monitor project timelines, risks, and deliverables in collaboration with other team members to ensure tasks are completed on time and efficiently
  • Manage project budgets and allocating funds in collaboration with the PI
  • Liaise with the Finance Department
  • Keep PI informed of study progress and escalate issues as needed
  • Write reports (technical reports/webbased summaries), abstracts, poster presentations, peerreviewed publications, and other relevant deliverables, in collaboration with the PI and other staff members
  • Perform other essential duties as assigned within the scope of the position

Required Education:


  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in health sciences/public health; graduate degree preferred

Required Experience:

Research or project management experience

  • Experience with program development/implementation research an asset
  • Experience conducting interviews and focus groups an asset
  • Experience in qualitative data analysis techniques
  • Experience engaging with a diverse range of stakeholders
  • The position may require some travel to various communities in Ontario for inperson data collections if permitted


Priority will be given to an Internal Applicant who has taught any course for the University in three (3) different sessions in the past thirty-six (36) months, provided they meet the requirements for the position as outlined in the job posting.
