Summary of Responsibilities


We are currently looking for a energetic, hard-working Cell Production Technician for a permanent full-time position on our
Continental Day shift** at our Alliston facility.


The primary focus of this position is to partner with the Supervisor and Process Engineer to generate and implement sustainable equipment improvements to positively impact Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), Perfect Equipment (PE) and the facility VIP program within the production cell.


Employees will be assessed throughout the program and their job performance to ensure they are successfully learning the necessary skills and qualifications.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Generate and implement sustainable equipment improvements to positively impact Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), Perfect Equipment (PE) and the facility VIP program within the production cell.
  • Troubleshooting current manufacturing opportunities and manufacturing prototype equipment/technology/components to improve equipment effectiveness.
  • Partner with the Core Maintenance Team and Supervisors as required to setup, maintain and troubleshoot manufacturing equipment within designated cells

Education Level
Required

  • Successful completion of Highschool Diploma or GED
  • Must hold a valid provincial certification as an Industrial Millwright Mechanic Licence 433A
  • Proof of apprenticeship

Preferred:

  • Postsecondary Degree in Engineering or Science

Major Subjects / Specialties
Required

  • Mechanical, Fabrication, Welding, Electrical, other Technical

Type of Experience

Required:

  • PLC knowledge.
  • Demonstrated use of advanced trouble shooting and diagnostic skills to determine the root cause of a complex machine failure.
  • Fastpaced environment

Preferred:

  • Previous Manufacturing experience in a GMP environment
  • Experience in food or manufacturing industry
  • Practical experience using Lean tools (6S, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping).

  • 5 + years

Additional Skills / Special Training / Technical Skills Required

Required:

  • Strong communication skills are required with the ability to work as part of a team or independently with minimum supervision
  • Demonstrated use of advanced trouble shooting and diagnostic skills to implement improved processes on the equipment
  • Practical experience using Lean tools (6S, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping)
  • Demonstrated ability to organize and schedule effectively in support of production priorities
  • Previous experience in Lathe Operation, Milling Machine Operation, Surface Grinding, Layout/Design(Machining), Fabrication, Welding (stainless steel & TIG) & PLC knowledge/skills.

Preferred:

  • Previous experience with MOTOMAN & Allen Bradley.
  • Previous experience using the AS400 system.
  • Identify and implement VIP opportunities
