HR Generalist - Fort McMurray, Canada - KMC Mining

General Accountabilities:
Reporting to Director, Human Resources, the Human Resources (HR) Generalist provides comprehensive support to the Human Resources Department to achieve organizational goals and objectives.
In addition, the incumbent is responsible for promoting the KMC safety culture, adhering to all provincial and federal laws, KMC policy, internal controls and practices, while maintaining the highest level of professionalism and upholding the values of KMC Mining Corporation.
Specific Accountabilities:
- Directly working with line leadership on employee performance and measurable for optimal workforce
- Managing site grievance and investigation processes
- Supporting management from a CBA standpoint
- Support recruitment and onboarding pieces with teams on site including onboarding of new leaders and staff
- Support leadership with HR Processes
- Support corrective action and termination process
- Assist with development initiatives
- Support talent management cycles including PD alignment and recurring reviews
- Support collective bargaining process as required
- Deal with Government agencies in relation to Records of Employment and providing the agencies with accurate information;
- Provide information to aid in the Employment Insurance process.
- Act as a liaison for the agencies.
- Send applicable information to help agencies make decisions as it relates to EI.
- Ensure all systems are accurate and updated.
- Administer the data entry process to maintain the integrity of the system.
- Provide administrative support to the Human Resources Department as required; and
- Other duties as assigned from time to time.
Job Qualifications:
- Formal Education _
- Postsecondary education in Human Resources/ Labour Relations and/or related field of study is required.
- Professional Designation in Human Resources is preferred.
- Work Experience_
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in a related role.
- Previous mining industry experience preferred.
- Previous unionized work environment preferred.
- Previous experience managing the fullcycle recruitment and selection process is required.
- Technical Skills_
- Working knowledge of The Canadian Model, Employment Standards Code, and Occupational Health & Safety, and other provincial and federal legislation.
- Excellent negotiation skills and influencer of decisions.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizing, attention to detail and problemsolving skills.
- Collaborative and performance orientated.
- Strong ability to work as part of a support team and adapt to changing stakeholder requirements.
- Tactful and diplomatic.
- Conflict resolution skills.
