We are looking for an Office Assistant to join our team in Truro, NS. The Office Assistant will provide support within the office and possess exceptional organizational and advanced computer skills.

In addition, they will answers phone calls and direct to the appropriate party, data entry, and process payments for customers while providing exceptional customer service.

Principle Responsibilities

Enables efficient branch operations by performing administrative tasks (fling, answering phone calls, etc.)
Greets customer/visitors in a professional manner
Makes deliveries and pickups when required
Understands and can navigate Prophet 2
Monitors inventory of office supplies
Contributes to a safe work environment by following all company safety policies and safe work procedures
Addresses safety issues and concerns in a proactive manner with peers and the operations manager
Ensure all safety documentation is uploaded and current on The Link

Required knowledge and training

Grade 12 diploma or equivalent
Postsecondary course work is considered an asset
Minimum 1year experience in an office environment
Experience with Prophet 21, OEP (Order Entry Program) is considered an asset
Strong computer skills with experience in database management and Microsoft Office
Ability to prioritize workload while working with competing priorities, tight deadlines and multiple distractions
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong attention to detail
Legally entitled to work in Canada
