MISSION
As a Procurement Specialist, the major objective is to respond to requests, advise, and assist the site's operational staff. You would need to manage a defined purchasing portfolio (services, products, equipment).

  • Responsible for the Operational Procurement for the Power Transfer for Rail Vehicle (PTRV) business unit in North-America, according to ISO TS 2316
  • Contributes to projects led by the Key Category Managers (KCM), and to the proper execution of the associated action plans for the site.
  • Evaluates the performance of the key suppliers (quality, costs, delivery, innovation) and manage a development program if necessary.
  • Evaluate the Purchasing and Supply chain risk following Mersen template and implement a mitigation plan if necessary.
  • Ensures the deployment of the Site's purchasing actions plans, activity standards, tools, programs, and regulations in accordance with MERSEN's ethical code and Corporate Social Responsibility. Tracks performance using operational and outcome KPI's.
  • Proposes costsaving plans and provides regular reports to analyze and encourage progress with respect to these objectives.
  • Organizes Requests for Proposal and negotiates on a legal and commercial standpoint. Proposes subcontracts to his/her direct manager (Make or buy / TCO analysis, Cost breakdown, Incoterm, ).
  • Negotiates contracts within the limits of its responsibilities for the site, in the form of a Lead Buyer.
  • Participates in the Supplier Evaluation/Reevaluation Program.
  • Responsible of the process/product qualification
  • Follows up and expedites deliveries as and when required, in order to meet the customer needs.

Skills Required:


  • You have a Twoyear college or technical school, and you have 5+ years of purchasing experience.
  • Experience with following manufacturing processes : casting, machining, sheet metal work, surface treatment, plastics thermoset processing
  • Experience with railway standards ISO 22163 / EN 15085 AWS CBS / EN 45545 NFPA 130 would be an asset
  • Ability to use general IT such as ERP, Microsoft Office tools.
  • Ability to communicate in English, both verbally and in writing. French knowledge would be an asset.
  • Proven Analytical skills would be an asset.

MISSION
