- Developing and executing engagement and consultation programs
- Coordinating environmental specialists
- Identifying and assessing environmental features, constraints, alternatives, potential effects, mitigation measures, and avoidance opportunities
- Providing advice regarding environmental aspects, applicable legislation, guidelines, and policies
- Documenting the project process
- Work collaboratively with other team members
- Are effective communicators
- Lead projects, environmental management work, and deliverables throughout a project life cycle
- Lead projects/disciplines and work with project managers in executing federal IAs and municipal and provincial EAs (planning, preliminary design, and detail design)
- Liaise with clients by phone, email, writing, virtually, and in person
- Liaise with local, provincial, and federal agencies regarding permits and approvals
- Collaborate with technical and professional staff across the company in completing assignments
- Coordinate, prepare for, attend, and document project meetings
- Coordinate and manage environmental specialists (e.g., fisheries, terrestrial, noise, air, archaeology) and planning support staff
- Be familiar with Alberta Public Lands Act, Water Act, Environmental Protection and Enhancement Act, and federal Impact Assessment Act, Fisheries Act, Species At Risk Act, Canadian Navigable Waters Act, and other relevant legislation
- Research, conceptualize, plan, and write drafts of reports related to planning, design, and permitting
- Support business development efforts, including proposal writing
- 4+ years of experience
- Bachelor's Degree in environmental management/planning, environmental science, environmental studies, urban and regional planning, or related field
- Experience with the environmental impact assessment and related legislation
- Excellent communication skills with proven success in engaging design managers, discipline leads, contractors, and negotiating with regulatory agencies
- 6+ years of experience

- Ability to work collaboratively with team members and across multi-disciplinary teams in a fast-paced environment
