At SMS Equipment, our
Inventory Analyst, Reman, is responsible for day-to-day inventory control processes and procedures, maintaining product data and analyzing the results to make recommendations for improvement as required.

The
Inventory Analyst, Reman will work with the Parts Supervisor to develop inventory control policies and supporting reports to align with the business KPI's.

This role is in
Acheson, AB.

The shift rotation for this position is
5x2.

Responsibilities include but are not limited too:

  • Monitor key performance indicators to ensure that trends are managed related to total parts inventory value, inventory turns, non-turning inventory, obsolescence parts and part number changes.
  • Review daily and weekly stock reports to ensure proper inventory levels are maintained to support the remanufacturing business.
  • Process stock orders for replenishment of inventory.
  • Ensure stock orders are placed with vendor order desk personnel or vendor order entry systems.
  • Identify surplus inventory and recommend branch transfers and/or parts returns to vendors.
  • Utilize RSPL's for new components entering the remanufacturing process for inventory stock identification.
  • Investigate and escalate back ordered items and provide updates to the Reman Operations department.
  • Maintain and manage Consignment inventory.
  • Work with the Parts Supervisor on the annual inventory count and reconciliation.
  • Undertake special parts analysis projects meant to understand and improve levels of parts support.
  • Assist in generating, developing and the maintenance of required inventory control reports and tools.
  • Accountable for the Reman Operations inventory control and support.
  • Act as a solutions provider and a source for general parts support and process training.
  • Analyze and recommend current day and medium to long term plans for inventories to support the business.
  • Work with the Parts Supervisor to develop reasonable annual objectives for the inventory control function to include proper and acceptable inventory levels, acceptable turnover rates, and acceptable fill rates.
  • Evaluate the parts inventory control systems and provides recommendations to the Parts Supervisor.

Qualifications:


  • General knowledge of the technical areas covered under responsibilities and activities.
  • Experience in managing parts and inventory control is desirable.
  • Extensive knowledge of parts distribution and inventory management.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with a wide variety of individuals and groups.
  • Ability to develop, plan, and implement short
- and long-range goals.

  • Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities.
  • Planning and organizational skills, including the ability to meet deadlines and complete projects.
  • Ability to work independently and/or as part of a team.
  • Ability to coordinate quality assurance programs in area of specialty.
  • Ability to develop and maintain recordkeeping systems and procedures.
  • High level of competency in Microsoft products Excel, Word, Power point.
  • Effective interpersonal skills, including tact and diplomacy with a variety of individuals and groups.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Good interpersonal and team play skills.
  • Ability to multitask in a fastpaced environment with great attention to detail.
